Lisa J. Porter, PhD
Dr. Lisa Porter was elected to join the Riverside Research Board of Trustees in March 2017. She received her bachelor’s in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a doctorate in applied physics from Stanford University.
Having accumulated over 20 years of experience with technology-based businesses supporting both national security and commercial customers, Dr. Porter has held both technical and leadership roles. She began working at MIT in 1994 and continued to build her career at the Institute for Defense Analyses, Logos Technologies, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), and Teledyne Scientific & Imaging. Notably, she was the first Director of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) in the ODNI.
Dr. Porter is currently the Executive Vice President and Director of IQT Labs at In-Q-Tel, where she is responsible for overseeing exploratory research into areas of strategic importance to national security, including cybersecurity, advanced analytics, biotechnology, and commercial space.
