Background and Current Work

Dr. Michael Wolf is a scientist for Riverside Research. His background is in photoluminescence spectroscopy and single photon counting techniques to research the quantum interaction between photons and electron spins in semiconductor nanoscale systems. He is developing and implementing optical techniques to investigate side channel emissions.

Education, Awards, and Recognition

Dr. Wolf received a BS in engineering physics at John Carroll University, an MS in physics at the University of Akron, and a PhD in physics at Case Western Reserve University. His dissertation research focused on the interaction of the electron spins of a fluorescent diamond defect—a spin quantum bit with a micro-sized ferromagnetic vortex for quantum information science and quantum sensing applications. He performed experiments on a confocal microscopy setup designed to image individual diamond defects and measure and control the spin energy levels using lasers and microwaves.
