Director, Modeling and Application Development

JP is the Director of the Modeling and Application Development team at Riverside Research, Centreville, VA.  He has twenty-nine years of experience in Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT) and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) related work. 

JP has extensive experience in sensor and collection-platform operations, in addition to a comprehensive appreciation for the value of the corresponding data exploitation.  JP started his career as an officer in the United States Air Force, supporting Space Command at Thule AB, Greenland as a Deputy Missile Warning Operations Crew Commander.  He then moved to Wright Patterson AFB to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center as a Radar Signature Engineer, and the F-117A Development Systems Program Office as a Low Observable Engineer.  As a contractor, he moved to Washington DC to support the Central MASINT Organization, the Pentagon MASINT Operations Coordination Center, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and other agencies.  While serving as a contractor, JP finished his professional military career retiring from the United States Air Force Reserves in 1997.

With 20 years of Systems Tool Kit (STK) experience, JP is considered an STK expert; modeling countless ground, sea, air and space based collection scenarios.  His technical experience combined with his STK proficiency allow him to rapidly model collection concepts for technical analysis, long term studies, and support to operational planning & mission effectiveness analysis.  JP was instrumental in the design and engineering of the Automated Collection Guidance Environment (ACGE), the Automated Collection Planning Tool (ACPT), the Integrate Aircraft Mission Planner (iAMP) and the Enterprise Collection Planner (ECP). 

JP was born in Austria, but considers Pittsburgh, PA his home.  He earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1986, and his MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton in 1991.  JP is married to his wife Dana for over 26 years and has three sons who are serving in the United States Air Force.
