Chief Engineer, Radar Assessment & Development

Philip Chorman is the Chief Engineer for the Radar Assessment and Development team located in Boston, MA. Philip has over 30 years experience in multi-mission radar and radar-guided missile programs that span the complete systems acquisition life-cycle, from specification and product development through system test, sustainment, and modernization.

Prior to joining Riverside Research, Philip worked as a Quality Control Test and Manufacturing Engineer for Raytheon Missile Systems Division supporting the Hawk surface-to-air missile. Philip joined Riverside Research in 1990, supporting and later leading many successful radar programs including the Ground Based Radar Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (GBR-THAAD), Cobra Judy Replacement, Cobra Dane System Modernization (CDSM) and Cobra Dane Upgrade (CDU), Gray Star, the Taiwan Surveillance Radar Program (SRP), and the Advanced Remote Ground Unattended Sensor (ARGUS).  He is a national subject-matter expert of the Cobra Dane radar system, which marked the nation’s first operationally certified Ground-Based Midcourse Defense Radar System, and the dual-band Cobra Judy Replacement/Cobra King, the most advanced technical collection system ever developed.

Philip completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Pratt Institute in 1987 with Highest Honors and his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1999.
