In 2011, Riverside Research invested in an Independent Research and Development (IR&D) project called Focused Eye; the purpose of which was to design a prototype sensor data processing procedure capable of enhancing future sensor designs and improving rapid imagery mensuration of moving targets of high national interest. Undertaken by the company’s Modeling and Application Development Laboratory (MAD Lab), Focused Eye provides the capability to study and analyze sensor data in order to obtain information pertaining to mobile targets at the sub-pixel level. The modular design utilizes a set of algorithmic tools for change detection, target extraction, and analysis. Tunable parameters in the detection methods, along with filters for false alarms, are utilized for procedure adaptability. This multifunctional prototype is capable of extending the capabilities of expensive remote sensing collection systems.
