  • Riverside Research's Computational Science and Engineering Laboratory (CSE Lab) offers clients scientific computing, engineering analysis, and trusted cloud services to address challenging problems of national importance. CSE Lab develops high performance, physics-based computational codes and state-of-the-art graphical user interfaces (GUI) for scientific applications, supports engineering design and analysis through modeling and simulation, and provides 24/7 accredited web-hosting and web application development services.

    CSE Lab is also leading a national initiative to establish a collaborative alliance for scientific software sustainment and development (S3D). The objective of the S3D Alliance is to provide government and industry organizations with a way to radically reduce the cost of developing and maintaining scientific codes while improving the capabilities of these codes and their support services.     • Scientific Software Development – CSE Lab's software development capabilities span all aspects of scientific computing including:
      • Algorithm development
      • High performance computing methods
      • Scientific GUI development
      • Code optimization for high performance computing hardware and architectures (GPGPUs, multi-core processors, vector computers, and large shared or distributed memory computer clusters)
      • Scientific data and model visualization
      • Advanced frameworks, schemas, and data model development
    • Engineering Services – CSE Lab provides engineering modeling and simulation (M&S) services for antenna design, radio frequency (RF) signature prediction, electromagnetic coupling and interference, lightning strike prediction, and high power microwave system performance. Our M&S capabilities include computer-aided design (CAD) model development, numerical predictions, and data analysis. We also provide user training and support services for computational methods and electromagnetic applications.
    • High Frequency Computational Electromagnetics – CSE Lab provides high performance computational electromagnetics (CEM) software to model high-frequency asymptotic effects for RF scattering problems. We employ a shooting-and-bouncing-rays (SBR) algorithm that scales nearly linearly with problem size across distributed computing hardware.
    • Trusted Cloud Services – CSE Lab provides hosting and cloud infrastructure services meeting government security certification requirements for low and moderate-risk systems (Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Level 3). Our service offerings include Secure Software-as-a-Service (SaaS); Secure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS); and Secure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).
