Currently the Chief Executive Officer of Peraton, Mr. Shea is a business leader and intelligence professional serving in an advisory capacity to public and private companies, government agencies, private equity investors, and academic institutions.

Previously the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Leidos, a leading scientific, engineering, and technology company, he was the principal architect in the creation of Leidos when he served as the COO of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). While with SAIC, he led the company’s support to the National Security Community, providing technology services and products for customers across the full spectrum of national security programs. Prior to his time with SAIC, Mr. Shea held executive leadership positions with TASC as Director, Space & Intelligence and PAR Technology Corporation, culminating as Technical Director, Digital Cartography. He also served as an Imagery Analyst & Remote Sensing Specialist with the Kansas Applied Remote Sensing Program of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Space Technology Center.

Mr. Shea is a founder of the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation and the organization’s highly acclaimed GEOINT Symposium, where he also served as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board for ten years. In 2003, Mr. Shea was named one of the 12 members of the National Commission for the Review of the Research & Development Programs of the US Intelligence Community.

Mr. Shea serves as a member of several advisory boards, most notably the National Intelligence University Foundation, George Mason University College of Science, the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, and the University of Virginia’s Department of Systems and Information Engineering He is an internationally recognized author and has served on several major international refereed journal editorial boards.

Mr. Shea is a 2009 recipient of the Federal Computer Week Fed100 award for top executives in the information technology industry, a 2013 inductee into Executive Mosaic Washington 100, and he received the 2014 Washington Business Journal/National Association of Corporate Directors Outstanding Director award.

Mr. Shea holds a Master of Arts from The University of Kansas, a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Albany, and has attended several distinguished executive development programs.
