Background and Current Work

Dr. Jeffrey D. Clark is a senior defense research professional with over two decades of experience in multiple engineering and aviation applications. As an overhead persistent infrared (OPIR) and machine learning subject matter expert supporting the USAF, he has incorporated innovative, novel machine learning techniques for detection of targets with varied illumination and provides data processing expertise on advanced OPIR collected data. Dr. Clark is also the Director of Artificial Intelligence Research at Riverside Research, providing management oversight of all ongoing research projects within the laboratory, including the development of third-generation spiking neural networks (SNNs) and second-generation advanced machine learning, deep learning, and artificial neural network applications. Dr. Clark has developed several novel deep-learning techniques for de-interleaving and classifying of EW signals as well as conceived novel self-learning SNNs for cognitive neuromorphic architectures.

Education, Awards, and Recognition

Dr. Clark received a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Arkansas in 1994. He then completed both his MS and PhD in electrical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 2006 and 2011, respectively.
