The Commercial Innovation Center has the power to detect space debris and other dangers in space.
This video depicts a notional concept of the NorthStar Constellation (in teal), imaging known space debris (with blue sensors) in LEO orbit of both Cosmos 1408 debris (in green) and COSMOS 2251 debris (in orange). Sensor cones depict line-of-sight (LOS) from the simulated NorthStar Constellation to the space debris. A yellow line depicts simulated detection.
Note—we have achieved great progress in observing two debris-related space events dispersed across the LEO belt. While space debris collection is a challenging topic, we continue to explore innovative solutions for persistent collection.
